A dog running, being a movie star or archery for adults – these are just a few of the definitions children gave when asked to explain adultery.

The hilarious test was carried out on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show in America after cheating website Ashley Madison was hacked.

When asked what they thought the word meant, one child said adultery was simply being an adult while another got it confused with wrongful arrest.

The video entitled Kids Explain: Adultery was posted on You Tube and has been viewed more than 640,000 times.

The comedian has previously been involved in parody songs with fellow comic Sarah Silverman writing a song about cheating on him with Matt Damon.

The funnyman responded with a song claiming he was sleeping with Ben Affleck.
